Sri Sakthi Amma initiated Zero Waste with one devotee sponsoring one tricycle to collect waste. From collecting waste to segregating waste, recycling waste and then converting organic waste into manure through vermi-composting has yielded phenomenal results. Today Amma’s program has employed over 300 people, which has resulted in Zero Waste, not only in and around the temple, but also in the surrounding villages.

Solid Waste Management initiative has also won the Green Temple Award for Sripuram, Sri Narayani Peedam, which is a testimony of the efforts and the mission that today stands as a role model. Further, employment to local villagers has contributed to the socio-economic development of the villages, contributing to the nation at large.
